Great location - in the middle of the city.

It has magnificent and fantastic location by wildlife.

Had fantastic stay of 2 nights, the staff were obliging, location was marvellous by wildlife. The room was comfy, outstanding and the bed was lovely. Location: the hotel was right by rural Yorkshire, the restaurant eating and the Dales. Moreover, it was approx 10-15 minutes' walk from St Marys. No complaint, we truly enjoyed staying in this place.

The room was practical and spotless and had lovely views of the hills. It included central heating, coffee/tea making equipment and television, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The location was marvellous, by wildlife, convenient to go everywhere.

Nice stay in the Dales

We had a lovely night here! The location was just perfect for exploring the Dales, and the bar area had a cozy vibe. The steak and ale pie that I ordered was a bit lacking on the filling for my taste, though.

The bathroom had a shower with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Breakfast was superb, with a hearty full English with fresh ingredients. The bar area had this nice log fire vibe. The staff were super friendly.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent-a good surprise that rivals fine dining, with every course savored completely. The early checkout at 10:00 AM felt a bit rushed, and the absence of a shower in the en suite limited the morning routine. The residents' lounge was cozy but rather small, leaving limited space for relaxation after a long day.

great views and friendly vibes

The staff's attitude was pretty off-putting. The bar dude seemed confused, and honestly, I reminded me of I was bothering them just asking. Kinda killed the mood, but the menu looked good, and I've heard the local beers are solid.

This is our go to dales hotel, we had such a cozy stay with lovely decor in the room. The breakfast is amazin and the bar area has a nice vibe with a log fire. We really enjoyed our meals, especially the first night with that yummy cheese board. The staff were super friendly.

Had a lovely stay with exceptional food—especially the well-presented beef and mushroom pie. The breathtaking views over the valley are unforgettable. Would definitely return!

Tighter seating arrangements in dining areas would help seniors.

ideal spot for wandering and enjoying local art attractions

We loved the easy access to the Graculus Sculptures, which are just about 5 km away, and the charm of the Swaledale Museum nearby for a dose of local culture. Plus, the dining was good with an excellent pork chop, made our evenings special.

Really good Food Quality and Cozy Atmosphere

I was impressed with the good meals offered, especially the home-cooked options that elevated our dining experience. The cozy bar area with a log fire created a warm atmosphere. The seating arrangements in the dining area could be more comfortable for seniors.

The Superior Double Room was super comfy and clean! The bed felt so nice, and the bathroom was just right. They even had yummy shortbread and nice-smelling bath products. Loved the decor too. It had this charming vibe, made it cozy. Just a solid spot to relax.

It was a proper fit for a short layover in Richmond with great value for money. The staff were friendly and made my stay enjoyable. Just check the lunch menu to ensure it has what you want.
